Reiki training in one weekend or spread over several sessions: which suits you?
By Vanessa Chugani · Updated November 2026
Choose a weekend if you want momentum, are visiting Bali briefly, or learn best through full immersion, finishing a level in one sitting. Choose several shorter sessions if you want time to practice between parts, are working through something significant, or need training to fit around work and family rather than taking a block of days off.
Reiki training with Vanessa, from Level 1 through to Master Teacher, is built from the same pieces every time: a manual, a live attunement, and support afterwards, taught in Canggu or live online in a group of no more than six, often one to one. Because there is no fixed calendar, she arranges the days around whoever is training. Some people do a level across a single weekend and come out the other side with the whole thing finished. Others prefer to spread the same level across several shorter sessions, with real gaps in between to let things settle. The material taught does not change between the two. What changes is how much space sits between the attunement and the next piece of practice.
| doing Reiki training as one intensive weekend | spreading Reiki training across several shorter sessions | |
|---|---|---|
| What happens | The level's manual, attunement and practice all happen across a single weekend, in one continuous block. | The same manual, attunement and practice happen across several separate sessions, spaced out over days or weeks. |
| Time to process | Little gap between parts, so most of the processing happens after the weekend itself is over. | Real gaps between sessions, so there is time to notice how each part actually feels before the next one. |
| Scheduling | Suits a short, fixed window: a trip to Bali, a free weekend, a few days taken off work. | Needs availability spread across weeks rather than days, fitted in around an otherwise normal routine. |
| Practice between parts | Little chance to try anything out mid training; independent practice mostly starts once the weekend ends. | Room to practice what was just taught, then bring questions back to the next session. |
| Who tends to choose it | People visiting Bali for a short stretch, or anyone who learns best by going all in on one thing. | People moving through something significant, or fitting training around work, children or other caregiving. |
| Pace of learning | Fast and continuous: one level finished within a single trip. | Slower and more spread out, with more time for each piece to settle before the next. |
Which one suits you
A weekend suits someone who wants momentum: travelling to Bali for a short stay, taking a rare block of days off, or simply someone who learns best by going all in on one thing until it is finished. There is a lot in a single level, and doing it in one block means walking away with the whole thing behind you. Spreading the same level across several shorter sessions suits someone who needs the gaps as much as the content. If you are moving through grief, a big life change or a stretch where your nervous system is already working hard, the space between sessions gives you room to feel what happened before adding more. It also suits anyone juggling work or family who cannot clear a whole weekend but can find a few shorter windows. Either way, what you are training in is rest for an overloaded nervous system, handed to you as a skill you keep.

Can I mix formats, like doing Level 1 as a weekend and Level 2 spread out?
Yes. Because there is no fixed calendar, each level is arranged separately around your own schedule. Many people choose a different pace for different levels, depending on how much else is happening in their life, or whether they are training in person in Canggu or live online.
Does training cost more if I spread it across several sessions instead of a weekend?
No. Training with her is EUR 488 per level whichever pace you choose, a weekend or several shorter sessions, in Canggu or live online. The fee always covers the manual, the attunement itself and support afterwards, so the pacing only changes the schedule, never the price.
Is a single weekend enough time to properly learn a level?
Yes, for one level at a time. The manual, the attunement and the practice all happen within the days you have, and support continues afterwards, so you are not left to work it out alone once the weekend itself is over.
