A combined Level 1 and 2 weekend, or two separate trainings: which suits you?

By Vanessa Chugani · Updated October 2026

If you are travelling to Bali for a set trip and already know you want both levels, you can arrange Level 1 and Level 2 close together around your dates. Choose separate trainings if you want time to live with Level 1 and its symbols, practise on yourself, and decide about Level 2 later. Both are taught live by Vanessa, in Usui Shiki Ryoho.

Level 1 and Level 2 are two separate trainings, each with its own attunement. Vanessa teaches them live in Canggu or live online, in groups of six or fewer, often one to one. The question is not which level to take. It is whether to take both across one weekend, with Level 1 moving into Level 2 within a day or two, or to take them apart, with real time between the two attunements. Symbols start at Level 1. Level 2 builds on them and adds distance work, so what changes between the formats is not the content. It is how much room you get to live with Level 1 before Level 2 begins.

Which one suits you

If you are flying to Bali for a set stretch of time and already know training is the path you want, the combined weekend makes sense. You get both levels, the Level 1 symbol work and the distance work Level 2 adds, in one trip. The teaching itself does not change: live, in a small group or one to one. Separate trainings suit someone with time to spare and no rush to decide. Say you live in Bali, or visit often, and want to try Level 1 on yourself for a few months before deciding whether to go further. That gap is not wasted time: it gives you a real sense of what Level 1 does before Level 2 builds on it. Either way, Reiki here is rest and support for a nervous system that has been running hot, handed to you as a craft you can use for the rest of your life.

Related questions

Can I take Level 2 straight after Level 1, in the same weekend?

Yes. Vanessa teaches both levels live when that suits your schedule and travel, with the gap between attunements arranged around you. You can move from the Level 1 attunement into Level 2 after a gap you arrange together, in the same small group or one to one format, live in Canggu or live online.

Is there a gap I need to leave between Level 1 and Level 2?

No fixed one. Training dates are arranged around each student, not set on a fixed calendar, so the gap between Level 1 and Level 2 can run from days to several months, depending on where you are with Level 1 and what you want next.

Can I decide to add Level 2 after taking Level 1 on its own?

Yes. There is no deadline to add Level 2 after Level 1. You can take Level 1 by itself, use it for a while, see what it is like to live with the symbols, and arrange Level 2 later, in Canggu or live online, whenever suits you.
