Do I need Level 1 before Level 2?

Yes. Usui Reiki Ryoho runs in order: Level 1 comes first and Level 2 builds directly on it. Training here is taught live, in Canggu or online, in groups of six or fewer, often one to one, with no fixed calendar. Each level is EUR 488 and includes the manual, the attunement and support afterwards.

Why Level 1 has to come first
Level 1 is where you receive your first attunement and where you learn to work hands-on, on yourself and then on other people. It is the foundation everything after it stands on. There is no shortcut that lets you start at Level 2, because Level 2 assumes that groundwork is already in place.
What changes at Level 2
Level 2 takes what Level 1 opened and deepens it. Students who come back for it usually say the practice starts to feel less like something they learned and more like something that is theirs. If you are not sure yet whether you want to go beyond Level 1, that is completely normal, and you do not have to decide now. Training is always live: never a recording, never an automated attunement. There is no fixed calendar and no advertised date. Dates are arranged around you, so if you finish Level 1 and want to wait six months, or six years, before Level 2, that is entirely your call.

Before you book Level 1
It helps to arrive with accurate expectations rather than romantic ones. Feeling nothing during your attunement is normal and does not mean anything went wrong. Preparing for an attunement covers what the day itself is actually like, and is worth reading before either level.
Level 1 suits anyone starting from nothing. Level 2 suits anyone who has already completed Level 1 and wants to take the practice further.

Yes. Level 1 stands on its own if you only want a personal practice, for yourself and the people close to you. There is no obligation to go on to Level 2 or Master Teacher, and no deadline if you decide to later.
